CF man faces felony drunk driving charge
CRYSTAL FALLS — A Crystal Falls man accused of driving under the influence of alcohol pleaded not guilty this week in Iron County Trial Court.
Anthony Mays, 41, is charged with operating with a high blood-alcohol content, third offense, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
But as a four-time habitual offender, Mays could receive life in prison if convicted.
According to the criminal complaint, deputies with the Iron County Sheriff’s Department stopped Mays’ vehicle on U.S. 2 in Iron River Aug. 28 and arrested him after he registered .17 blood-alcohol content on a preliminary breath test.
A probable cause hearing is set for Monday. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.
