Northern Michigan University hosting information events

IRON MOUNTAIN — Northern Michigan University will host informational events in Escanaba and Iron Mountain, where non-traditional students can learn about career-advancing business programs offered completely or partially online.

Programs include a new bachelor of applied science in management degree, a graduate certificate in health informatics and a master of business administration (MBA).

Individuals can drop in at their convenience at either event to discuss options with NMU representatives. The Escanaba session will be held from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Comfort Suites. The Iron Mountain session is scheduled for Sept. 25 from 3 to 7:30 p.m. in the lower-level commons of Bay College West.

The bachelor of applied science in management degree is for those who already have an associate degree in a technical field. The program is designed to teach students added expertise and skills to advance to management and leadership roles in their chosen field.

The Health Informatics degree is a five-course graduate certificate program that trains healthcare, information systems and health administration professionals in the latest technology, data and electronic records management.

Courses in this program can also be applied to Northern’s MBA degree. The master of MBA program provides students with the skills to be an ethical, creative leader in practically any field.
