Gummin selected to perform at recital

KENZI GUMMIN

FLORENCE, Wis. — Kenzi Gummin has been selected to perform at the Exemplary Performance Recital hosted by the Wisconsin State Music Association’s State Conference in Madison, Wis.

The recital will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Monona Terrace Convention Center.

She is the daughter of Matt and Kerri Gummin of Spread Eagle, Wis. and a junior at Florence High School

Last spring, thousands of middle and high school student musicians from across the state prepared for the annual State Solo & Ensemble Festival. Ten university campuses hosted performances by more than 32,000 students, making this event one of the largest of its kind in the nation.

Gummin performed “The Wizard and I” from the Broadway musical “Wicked” at the State Solo & Ensemble Music Festival hosted by the University of Wisconsin Green Bay Campus.

Of these 32,000 unique performances, only 449 vocal, instrumental and other ensembles were identified as exemplary performances. And of the 449, only a handful have been selected to perform as part of the Exemplary Performance Recital at the WSMA State Music Conference.
