Trees catch fire after falling on power lines in Kingsford

KINGSFORD — There were no injuries Monday after two fires at separate locations in Kingsford.

Officers were called to the first fire at 3:54 p.m., when a tree fell on an overhead power line in the 300 block of North Boulevard, according to a release from Kingsford Public Safety.

The power line ignited the fallen tree, though the fire was contained to the area, the release stated.

KPS were called again at about 4:42 p.m. after an other tree fell on a power line at Cowboy Lake.

Officers were able to contain the fire.

KPS were assisted in both incidents by We Energies.
