Niagara receives first responders grant

NIAGARA, Wis. — A grant of $3,670 from the Twin Counties Emergency Services Providers Fund will help provide equipment and training for first responders in Niagara.

The grant to Niagara Police Department will support special response training and equipment, Police Chief Angela Moreau said.

The police department, along with Wisconsin Emergency Management, the Niagara Area Emergency Unit, the Niagara Fire Department and the School District of Niagara, will be able to enhance training to continue to provide preparedness and response to critical incidents, she said.

The fund was established by the Board of Directors of the M & M Area Community Foundation in 2016 to assist emergency personnel and organizations across Marinette and Menominee counties. It provides grants for training, equipment and other critical needs.

Grant funding is made available through the charitable contributions of local donors through endowments established and managed by the M & M Area Community Foundation.
