Heavy damage in Aurora fire
AURORA, Wis. — No one was injured in a fire on Lakeview Drive in Aurora late Friday that left the home uninhabitable, officials said.
Firefighters arrived at 973 Lakeview Drive near Fischer Lake just after 10 p.m. to find the home’s residents already outside and the living room filled with flames, Aurora Volunteer Fire Department Chief Chad Hedmark said.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and returned to the station at 2:28 a.m., he said. But the home has heavy fire and smoke damage.
While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, it is not considered suspicious, Hedmark said.
The AVFD was assisted by Homestead Volunteer Fire Department, Florence Fire Department, Florence County Sheriff’s Office and Integrity Care EMS.
