Karen Ganley

KINGSFORD – Karen D. Ganley, 70, of Kingsford, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 5, 1942, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Harry and Olive (Petzoldt) Hess.

Karen graduated from Florence High School. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, and going to the casino. She did home health care and had worked at PSI.

She married Paul Ganley in July 1976, in Red Oak, Iowa.

Karen is survived by her husband, Paul; two daughters, Dorothy Lewis of Beaumont, Texas, and Jerri Hayes of Iron Mountain; four grandchildren, Bradley Lewis, John Lewis, Cullen Mitchem, and Cheyeanne Miller; one great-grandson, Keegan Lewis; two sisters, Judy Schabel of Aurora and Cheryl McNeil of Iron Mountain; three brothers, Bill (Dorothy) Hess of Florence, Douglas (Mary Gilbert) Hess of Iron Mountain, and John (Julie) Hess of Iron Mountain; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

The Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
