NORRIS LUCAS

NORWAY — Norris “Luke” Lucas, 79, of Norway, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.

He was born on May 8, 1937, in Oil City, Pa., the son of the late Norris J. and Pearl E. (Taft) Lucas.

There are three simple words to describe Luke: Live, Laugh, and Love.

He lived for his family; he loved the Lord and his laughter, smile and sense of humor, lit up the room.

Luke was blessed to work with many great people over the years and made many friends along the way, whom he loved and respected.

Luke loved and cared for his family and everyone he came in contact with.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances; his seven children, Nina (Jeff) Hurst, Norris (Cindy) Lucas, David Lucas, James (Melissa) Lucas, Bryan (Melissa) Lucas, Sonia (James) Cetnarowski, and Yvonne (Frank) DiPaola; 13 grandchildren, Jonathan Rylant, Christopher Lucas, Natasha McCarthy, James Lucas, Frances Anderson, Brittany, Katherine, and Danielle Lucas, Pearl Webber, Jared and Michael Allred, Ashley and Ambur Cetnarowski; nine great-grandchildren; brother, James (Kay) Lucas of Arizona; sister, Mary Carlson of Iron Mountain; brother-in-law, Robert Krol Sr. of Erie, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

Luke was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Sandra Krohl.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the church with Pastor James Danielson officiating.

Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in the spring.
