AMASA — Wilma L. Watts, 89, of Amasa, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at Victorian Heights Assisted Living in Crystal Falls.

She was born on Dec. 13, 1927, in Brooklyn, Mich., daughter of the late Steven and Lotti (Judd) Emery.

She married Ralph Watts on March 8, 1947, in Napoleon, Ohio, and he preceded her in death in May of 1992 after more than 45 wonderful years together.

Wilma loved gardening and her farm girl upbringing. She spent most of her life in the outdoors, connecting with all of the plants and animals. She was a simple person living and loving her simple life. She loved taking care of her family and did it well and in a way that kept all of them connected to the outdoors.

In 1975 she went to work at the AGA Flooring Company in Amasa as a lumber grader, retiring in 1992.

Wilma is survived by her sons, Randy (Susan) Watts of Green Bay, Wis., and Fred (Julie) Watts of Menominee, Wis.; a stepson, Tommy Watts; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Carroall, Tricia (Greg) Chleborad, Aaron Watts (Michelle Inman), and Emily Watts; five great-grandchildren, Braden, Chase, Sophia, Nyla, and Liam; brothers, Richard Emery of Brooklyn, and Herb Emery of Adrian.

She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Wilma was preceded in death by sisters, Alberta Haner and Sally Stump; and a brother, Dorwin Emery.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls.

The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Cheryle Spicer will officiate.

Burial will be in the Hematite Township Cemetery in the spring of 2018.
