Jack Calvin Nelson
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Jack Calvin “Cal” Nelson, 79, of Huntington, passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at The Village at Riverview. Memorial services were held at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel in Barboursville. He was born Nov. 13, 1938, in Iron Mountain, a son of the late John Cleveland and Evelyn Hassel Nelson. He is survived by his wife, Carol Povolo Nelson; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Brian Noe of Catawba, N.C.; one brother, Don Nelson (Kay) of Brighton; one sister, Sally Nelson of Kingsford; two grandsons, Tyler Noe (Nicki), of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Aaron Noe (Savanah and Myah Nunez) of Round Lake, Ill.
Cal served as President of Kanawha Steel Equipment Company, then finished his career as President and Chief Operating Officer of Logan Corporation. He loved spending time at his ranch, deer hunting, visiting family and sitting outside with his good friend, Don Faherty, solving the problems of the world. He was also a gifted artist and member of Praise Painters.
