Wayne Lowis

NIAGARA, Wis. — Wayne M. Lowis, 85, formerly of Niagara, passed away March 9, 2018, at Crossroads Care Center in Kenosha, Wis.

Wayne was born March 15, 1932, in Marinette County, Wis., to Mark and Clara Lowis. He married the former Aileen Cardinal on Oct. 7, 1950, in Niagara. Wayne and Aileen moved to Racine, Wis., where they raised their family.

While living in Racine, Wayne worked as a machinist at Ladish in Cudahy, Wis. In 1972 they moved back to Niagara. Wayne worked as a machinist at Iron Mountain Machine, Super Tool in Kingsford, and finally retired from Kingsford Broach and Tool. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and golfing.

Aileen preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 2016.

In addition to his wife and parents, Wayne was preceded in death by brothers, Neil, Don and Bill; and his sister, Katherine. Also preceding him in death were his brother-in-law, Ernest Sauld; and sister-in-law, Beverly Lowis.

He is survived by two sons, Mike (Karen) Lowis of Florence, Wis., and Mark (Melanie) Lowis of Oostburg, Wis.; four daughters, Kristine (Bob) Carlson of Racine, Donna Turrie of De Pere, Wis., Patricia Bjorkman of Green Bay, Wis., and Nancy Lowis of Racine; two sisters, Florence “Toots” (Carl) and Carol (Rudy); and a sister-in-law, Joanne; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 17 at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate.
