Jill L. Hinkley

She was born Jan. 18, 1950, in Cheboygan, daughter of the late Willis and Jackie (Gouin) Hinkley. Jill, graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1968 and was a lifelong resident of the area. She married Gary Edlund in 1968 and was married for 32 years. The two of them owned and operated Upper Peninsula Pet Center for more than 20 years.

She enjoyed painting, making jewelry, singing, listening to music, cooking, gardening and genealogy.

Jill is survived by two children, Jennifer (Jody) Christy of Iron Mountain, Jaime (Brent) Hiatt of Kingsford; four grandchildren, Michael Christy (Steph Oliver), Nicole Christy (Luke Hartwig), Rebecca Christy (Eric Pivoris) and Colten Hiatt; her brother, William (Pat) Hinkley of Kingsford; and sister, Joy (Stan) Roberts of Cheboygan; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Jill was preceded in death by her father, Willis Hinkley; mother, Jackie Hinkley; and her sister, Jeffie Deroshia.

A private memorial celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
