Julia K. Janssen

NORWAY — Julia K. Janssen, 91, of Norway, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at ManorCare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Kingsford.

She was born one of eight children on Jan. 31, 1927, in Norway, the daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Masty) Supa.

Julia married Albert H. Janssen on Oct. 28, 1944, in St. Mary Church in Norway and they had 33 years of marriage together until he was taken to our Lord on Aug. 29, 1977.

Julia was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She worked at Needlecraft Sewing Factory, was a cook at Holy Spirit School and retired from Norway Gravure in 1987.

She remained young at heart and could always be found singing and dancing “You Are My Sunshine” or “The Old Grey Mare” with a smile on her face.

She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her greatest pride and joy was watching her family grow and she loved them all “a bushel and a peck.”

Julia is survived by her children Michael (Judith) Janssen of Marquette, Larry (Debbie) Janssen of Vulcan, Ann (Bill) Kraemer of Vulcan and Patty (Mike) Phillips of Norway; six grandchildren, Brian Janssen, Jen (Tony) Adams, Tim (Nikki) Kraemer, Michelle (David) Alessandroni, Paul (Lisa) Kraemer and Chrissy Janssen; great-grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Bryce, Ethan, Ella, Ava, Parker and Kamden.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Julia was preceded in death by her brothers; sisters; and a granddaughter, Heather Janssen.

Visitation will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 13 at St. Mary Church in Norway.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis officiating.
