Sandy Valentine

She was born on June 11, 1961, in Menominee, the daughter of the late John and Helen (Strahl) Mouford.

Sandy received her associate degree from Bay College, she worked for the Hermansville and Iron Mountain First National Bank, Dickinson County Memorial Hospital System as a financial assistant and was a former Meyer Township Clerk.

Sandy married Michael Valentine on April 17, 1999 in Hermansville.

Sandy was a very kind, patient and loving person, a testament to her strong Christian faith. Her husband, children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. She enjoyed reading, her horses and gardening.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Mike; children, Jeremy (Carrie) Pretto of Midland, Danica (Tyler) Swanson of Escanaba, Shannon (Alex Gallagher) Nieuwkoop of Grand Rapids and Laura (Paul) Topp of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Alana, Asher, Zandria, Easton, Bennet, Brody, Cecelia, Kendal, Lily and Olivia; sisters, Sue (Larry) Raiche of Vulcan, Marge Carlson of Norway and Mary Ann (Ron) Powell of Florida; brothers, Gary Johnson of South Carolina, Dave (Patti) Mouford of Hermansville and Don (Karen) Mouford of Daggett; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Peter Johnson and Ron Phelps.

Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 28 at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.

A memorial service will follow at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Richard Yates of Community Bible Chapel officiating.

Interment will be in the spring at Cemetery Park.
