Timothy Flessati

LAS VEGAS — It was 28 degrees below zero and we were excited to welcome a baby girl into our family. Surprise, it was a boy. The ultrasound DID NOT show that.

He had blond hair, blue eyes and the deepest dimples you ever saw. A definite keeper. The date was Feb. 9, 1979, beginning Tim’s short time on this earth. He died unexpectedly, April 7, 2018.

At the age of 3, his family moved from Norway to Las Vegas, where he began a new chapter in his life. Tim graduated as an honor student in 1996 from Chaparral High School.

While in high school, Tim, his father and brother built a stock car, but he had to wait until he turned 16 to race. Three days later he was racing. He raced dirt tracks in Nevada, California and Arizona, and took great pleasure in racing against and beating Kurt and Kyle Bush, when they raced dirt tracks.

Tim met the love of his life, Nicole Barnard, and they were married for 15 years. Derrick and Alexis completed their family. They talked about moving to the Upper Peninsula because Tim loved the area. He was a Yooper at heart.

Tim was a Journeyman painter and a proud member of Local 159 Painters Union in Las Vegas.

He traveled the country for his job, but the majority of his work was done in the Las Vegas area, painting both inside and outside the casinos. He was most proud of painting the ceiling in the Venetian.

Hunting mule deer and elk in Utah and Nevada with his dad and brother was an annual event Tim looked forward to, and he has several trophy mounts to prove it. Fishing, watching NASCAR and cheering on the Detroit Lions were some of his favorite pastimes. Spending time with family and friends was his greatest joy of all.

Tim leaves behind his wife, Nicole; children, Derrick and Alexis; parents, David and Cheryl (Anderson) Flessati; brother, David Jr. and his children, Megan, Joey and Tommy; grandmother, Laura Flessati; aunts and uncles, Marie (Robert) Belanger, Nancy (Norbert) Farley, JoAnn Arnold, Robert (Tammy) Flessati. Sylvia (Alan) Matchett, Diane (Dale) Laesch, Ann (Neil) Dill and Bob (Mary) Anderson; along with several cousins and extended family.

Tim has joined his mother-in-law, Annette Rizzilo; grandparents, Joseph Flessati, and Sigvard and Emily Anderson in heaven.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held May 5 in Las Vegas.

You will be missed.
