POWERS — Alan “Craig” C. Maxwell, 83, of Powers, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, Wis. He was born in Washington D.C. on June 18, 1934, son of the late Alan and Jean (Taylor) Maxwell. On July 1, 1961, Craig married the former Gail Lawrence in Two Rivers, Wis.

Craig proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Powers.

Craig enjoyed golfing, fishing, Sudoku, playing cribbage, and traveling with his family. He especially loved spending time with his family and inviting friends over.

Craig is survived by his loving wife, Gail; children, Craig T. (Linda) Maxwell, Brent (Tammy) Maxwell and Julie (Rodney) Awve; grandchildren, Brett, Kate, Chase and Blake Maxwell, Rylee (John) Kohls, Colton Maxwell, Maxwell Soucy, and Sean and Luke Awve; sister, Carol McKernon; and brother-in-law, Tom (Maddy) Lawrence.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m Central time Sunday, June 17 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding.

Tony Revord American Legion Post 244 of Powers will conduct military rites at noon at the funeral home.

A funeral service celebrating Craig’s life will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church in Powers, with Pastor Ronald Zindler officiating.

Burial will be in Spalding Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, N16045 Main Street, Powers, MI 49874; or to Lutherans for Life: 8501 W. Lincoln Ave., West Allis, WI 53227.
