POWERS — Lorraine H. Land, 93, of Powers, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Des Plains, Ill., on July 27, 1924, daughter of the late Herman and Esther (Welle) Ehrhardt. On Oct. 1, 1949, Lorraine married the love of her life, Edward Land, in Des Plains.
Lorraine enjoyed spending her time golfing, baking, cooking, tending to her flower garden, camping and vacationing in northern Wisconsin, and wintering south with Ed. She was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Powers, the Elks Club and the Highland Golf Club.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Ed Land of Powers; sons, Cal (Joyce) Land of Spalding and Jeff (Paula Pieropon) Land of Powers; grandchildren, Amy (Vincent) Graham, Stacy (Jason) Heim, Scott (Megan) Land, Jesse (Erica) Land and Jamie (Adam) Smith; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Gloria Otth; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Land.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 19 at Grace Lutheran Church in Powers.
A funeral service celebrating Lorraine’s life will follow visitation at noon at the church, with Pastor Ronald Zindler officiating.
A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
