QUINNESEC — Nancy M. Youren, 73, of Quinnesec, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her home. She was born June 24, 1944, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Lincoln and Constance (Brouilette) Edwards.

Nancy married Duane Youren on Sept. 2, 1961. He preceded her in death in 2012. Nancy was a hard worker, and for 15-plus years was a manager and hostess at the Harrah’s Casino in Las Vegas. She and Duane also owned and operated several businesses and restaurants over the years.

Nancy was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. She enjoyed golfing and traveling. Nancy’s family was her number one priority and she was always there for them. She loved family get-togethers and especially enjoyed coming back home for Christmas when they lived away.

Nancy is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Spencer of North Carolina and Michelle (Scott Deau) Pilkington of Quinnesec; seven siblings, Charlene (Don) Schultz, Joyce Wahoviak, Helen (Will) Sauld, Judy (Patrick) Edwards, Christine (Mike) Terry, Marie (Brian Rutter) Edwards and Lincoln (Mary) Edwards; two grandchildren, Dorian (Eric) Saunders and Louis “Doug” Saunders; one great-grandchild, Kai; a brother-in-law, Terry (Liz) Youren; life-long friend, Sandy Raymond; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeffery Youren in 2008; and a brother-in-law, Al Wahoviak.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in Cemetery Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Martyrs Catholic Church or the Almost Home Animal Shelter in Nancy’s memory.
