Pack Tsuan Liu

IRON MOUNTAIN — Pack Tsuan Liu, 83, of Iron Mountain, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.

He was born Jan. 22, 1935, in Taishan City, Guangdong Province, People’s Republic of China, to the late Ruiqi and Yinju (Wu) Liu. Pack Tsuan married Kuan Chan Chen in August 1965.

In 1990 he and his wife emigrated to the United States in 1992, and shortly after he was a co-owner of Sichuam and Three Happiness Restaurants in Marquette. In 1993 Pack Tsuan and his wife opened Peking Restaurant in Kingsford. In 2002, he and his wife, his sons, Michael Wen Liu and his wife, Catherine Jie Zhang, and Jun Liu and his wife, Jun Feng Chu, opened Peking Chinese Restaurant in Iron Mountain. In 2005 they expanded to Houghton where they opened and operated Ming’s Asian Bistro.

Pack Tsuan was a team member on the Jiamgxi Province volleyball team from 1956 to 1961. In 1962, he became head coach of the Jiamgxi Province men’s team until 1990. He enjoyed volleyball and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kuan Chan Chen Liu; two sons, Michael Wen (Catherine Jie Zhang) Liu of Houghton and Jun (Jun Feng Chu) Liu of Iron Mountain; three grandsons, Daniel Liu, Kai Xiang Liu and Kai Xuan Liu; one sister, Xiaofeng Liu; one brother, Pack Ling (Wei Lan) Liu; and one brother-in-law, Huada Tan.

In addition to his parents, Pack Tsuan was preceded in death by one sister, Xianjia Liu; and one brother-in-law, Yao Shu Li.

Private family visitation will be held.

Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
