EAST KINGSFORD — Susan “Kay” Grigg, 74, of East Kingsford, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 5, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Jan. 30, 1944, in Ishpeming, to Wilfred and Audrey (Tippett) Garrett. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1962.

Kay married Roy A. Grigg on Nov. 16, 1963, in Ishpeming. In 1970, they moved to East Kingsford, where they shared 40 years together and raised three children.

Kay was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and belonged to Christian Women’s group. She also enjoyed spending time with her Ya-Ya Sisters.

Kay enjoyed reading, crocheting, and the many weekends spent camping and boating at Way Dam with her family.

After getting her iPad, Kay especially enjoyed using Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family.

She is survived by her children, Clinton (Lori Neilson-Grigg) Grigg of Green Bay, Wis., Eric (Honey) Grigg of East Kingsford and Linda (Mike Belanger) Nguyen of Green Bay, Wis.; grandchildren, Nicholas (Amanda Mapes) Grigg, Lindsay (Luke) Greenawald, Amanda (Marc Allen) Grigg, Lynnelle Nguyen, Kimidy (Ian Ness) Nguyen and Ericka Nguyen; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Glenn (Pat) Garrett of Ishpeming; sisters-in-law, Andre Garrett and Cindy Larson; a special friend of the family, Caren Erickson of Kingsford.

She is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Roy, Kay was preceded in death by her brothers, Alan and Bruce; and her great-granddaughter, Grace.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Friday, July 13 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.

Memorial services will follow at noon at the church.

Rev. Paul Strom will officiate.

Burial will be in Ishpeming Cemetery.
