Arling Christensen

PEMBINE, Wis. — Arling Christensen, of Pembine, passed away on Aug. 24, 2018, at Lakewood Assisted Living in Lakewood, Wis., after a long illness. Arling is the son of the late Hildegard (Brusewitz) and Russell Christensen. He was born Jan. 27, 1940, in Oconto County Wis. He farmed for most of his life, he also worked at Brillion Iron Works and drove semi for a time, but his true love was his cattle.

Arling is survived by his sisters, Shirley Seich of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., Alice Denis, Peggy Christensen, Susan Srenaski and Cathy Christensen, all of Green Bay, Wis. He is also survived by his brothers, Donald (Sharon) Christensen Little Suamico, Wis., and James Christensen of Kingsford; and his goddaughter, Jessica Mendez and her family of Green Bay.

He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, many of whom referred to him as Uncle Tuffy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Janice (Norman) Engstrom, Marian (David) Butler, Connie and Joyce Christensen; brother, Vernon Christensen; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Christensen; and brother-in-law, Walter Siech.

A celebration of Arling’s life will be at 10 a.m. Thursday Aug. 30 at Northwoods Chapel-Pembine, until the time of the funeral at 11 a.m., with Pastor Fred Barribeau officiating. Interment will be in the Pembine Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Cindy Morgan for the care and friendship she has given Arling over the years. Without her we would not have had him with us for as long as we did. We would also like to thank all who visited with him and were his friends.

Although we are sad for our loss, do not mourn for him because he is now in a better place and with those who have gone before him and we do not say good bye because we will see him again. We just say see you later!
