Judith “Judy” Reed

Judith "Judy" Reed

KINGSFORD — Judith “Judy” Reed, 77, of Kingsford, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at Dickinson County Healthcare System. She was born Oct. 21, 1940, on Mackinac Island, daughter of the late Clarence and Florence (Craig) Vance.

Judy went to school on Mackinac Island through 10th grade. Then in 1958, she graduated from Cold Spring Arbor High School in Lower Michigan.

She married Eldon Reed on June 18, 1960, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Kingsford.

Judy had worked many jobs. A couple of the jobs included the telephone company (in their early marriage) and Chick’s pharmacy. However, most people would remember her from the Clark gas station, which she and Eldon managed for many years.

Judy loved to knit, sew and work in the garden. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Fishing was her favorite sport, so if you were standing between her and the boat you would have been run over because Judy would drop everything to go fishing.
