Carolee J. Palmcook

QUINNESEC — Carolee (Carol) J. Palmcook, 82, of Quinnesec, passed away on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at home.

She was born on July 7, 1936, in Schaffer, daughter of the late Louis and Violet (Chaillier) Pilon. Carol graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1954 and was a lifelong resident of the area. She married David Palmcook on Aug. 17, 1957, at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain, where she was a longtime member.

Spending time with family brought Carol the most joy in life. She loved hosting family gatherings and picnics that brought the family together. Carol was involved in 4-H and taught CCD while her children were growing up. More recently, she was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting blankets for her children and grandchildren, wintering in Arizona and traveling in their RV.

Carol is survived by her husband of 61 years, David; a son, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Palmcook of Quinnesec; two daughters, Dawn (Tim) Comer of Niagara, Wis., and Lori (Keith) Cornell-Daoust of Portage; two brothers, Gary (Janice) Pilon and Randy (Cindy) Pilon; three sisters, Nancy (Lloyd) Cudnohufsky, Debbie (Steve) Krueger and Renee (Chris) Wilson; sister-in-law, JoAnn Pilon; nine grandchildren, Andy (Katie) Comer, Joe (Katie) Comer, Erin Comer, Dylan Palmcook, Carrisa Palmcook, Brittany (Dan) Westrick, Rachel Cornell, Jasson Zanoni and Melanie (Mike) Washbish; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pilon.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Raymond Valerio will officiate.

A luncheon will be served following mass in the church hall.
