HARDWOOD — On Sept. 13, 2018, Daryl Kenneth Elsey passed away, surrounded by his family.

Daryl graduated from Redford Union High School, Class of 1958. He worked for NcNabb’s Carpets in Detroit. He mastered his profession and later became an instructor for New York Carpet World. He worked for many years as an independent contractor until he semi-retired in 1989 and purchased Bonetti’s Bar in Foster City, which became “LC’s Tavern.”

Along with his many legacies, he leaves us with this: “A man is only as good as his word, his word is his bond, and ‘You just can’t fix stupid!'”

Daryl is survived by his daughters, Sheila Lawrenson, Beth Tiberio, Teresa (Mustafa El-Baradie) Elsey, Jill (Anthony) Benavides; brother, Dennis Elsey; sister, Linda Hannah; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Melvin Daryl Elsey.

Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A service will follow at 5 p.m.
