LILLIAN SCHNEIDER

NIAGARA, Wis. — Lillian M. Schneider, 95, of Niagara, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara.

She was born June 15, 1923, in St. Cloud, Minn., daughter of the late John and Florentine (Hartmann) Hockert.

Lillian married Herman Schneider on Oct. 27, 1956, in St. Paul, Minn. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2012.

Before her marriage, Lillian worked as a secretary at General Mills and played on the General Mills softball team. She was a longtime member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in St. Paul and was president of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Lillian was also a member of the ULLR Ski Club and the Knob Hill Ski Club in St. Paul, as well as the Rhinelander’s Club in Oxnard, Calif. Lillian volunteered at the hospital in Ventura, Calif.

Survivors include her three daughters, Ann (Thomas) Johnston of Niagara, Wis., Jane (Wade) Hughan of San Francisco, and Judy (David) Council of Edwardsville, Ill.; four sisters, Helen Worden of California, Loretta (Donald) Schiller and Mickey Lull, both of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Josie Butterfield of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren, Thomas (Anna), Mary, Iona, John (Corey), Margot, Mark and Mae; and two great-grandchildren, Alice and Thomas.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Herman, Lillian was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary (Steve) Zimmerman.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10 at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 934 East Geranium Avenue, St. Paul, MN.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Fr. Eric Hollas will officiate.

Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, St. Paul.
