RILEY STARNES

NORWAY — Riley J. Starnes, age 20, died unexpectedly, Monday, Aug. 27, 2018.

He was born on June 3, 1998, in Iron Mountain, the son of Brian Starnes and Carrie Haferkorn.

Riley attended Norway Schools, where he enjoyed playing football which was his passion.

He loved his family, enjoyed spending time with them, and face timing his niece Nova Snulligan.

Riley is survived by his wife Messiah; step-daughter Keira; parents Brian (Jessica) Starnes and Carrie (Robert Alexander) Haferkorn; paternal grandfather Brian Starnes, Sr.; maternal grandparents Debbie and Tom Murray and Tracy and Janice Haferkorn; brothers Ryan Brin, Collin and Dawson Starnes; sister Rhiannon Brin; many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom all loved Riley very much and wanted him to get better; special aunt Pat Bergeron whom he loved so much; a special friend Neil Vassar, Riley always looked up to you; and Tony Villanuava who was a father figure to Riley for years.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Shirley Starnes.

Riley was a fun loving person, who had an addiction he could not control. He was loved by many and will never be forgotten, as a parent, I am begging you if you or someone you love is struggling with an addiction, please call 1-877-920-0814.

A service for Riley will be held on Friday, Sept. 7 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan, with Rev. Timothy Ekaitis officiating, followed by a celebration of Riley’s life at 3 p.m. at St. Barbara’s Church Parish Hall.
