Beatrice A. Brozovich

CRYSTAL FALLS — Beatrice A. Brozovich, 94, of Iron River, formerly of Kingsford, passed away Jan. 7, 2019, at Aspirus Hospital Iron River.

Beatrice was born Oct. 15, 1924, in Kingsford. She attended Kingsford schools and was in the Kingsford High School, Class of 1942.

Beatrice married George J. Brozovich on Oct. 17, 1942, at the Parsonage of the Church of Christ in Kingsford by Rev. Bertrand Smith. She later became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford. They were married 69 years.

Bea worked at the Dickinson Hotel and the J.C. Penney and Montgomery Wards stores. While George was in the service during World War II, Beatrice worked in the defense factory in Chicago, and in later years she was a machine operator for General Controls in Kingsford.

She also worked as a machine operator for Norway Perry, retiring after 20 1/2 years of service and was a member of the Graphic Arts International Union (GAIU).

She was active in the Senior Centers (Breen, Norway and Sagola) after retirement. She was involved with volunteering there and loved every minute of it. She was involved in crafts and made many projects for the centers.

After retirement Bea and her husband, George, traveled a lot and spent their winters in Florida.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen (Robert) Seelund; two granddaughters, Ellen (Terry) Steffes and Angel Seelund (Jeremy Lindstrom); two great-grandsons, Levi and Robert Bates; great-granddaughters, Regina and Emma Nord; one brother, Ron (Carol) Barr; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 2011; three sisters, Vera West, Nancy Barr and Patsy Trombley; and one brother, Roger Barr.

As Bea wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial services.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
