Roger W. Reese

PEMBINE, Wis. — Roger W. Reese, 79, of Pembine, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 21, 2019, at a Green Bay Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was born May 1, 1940, to the late Richard and Josephine (Kohlmann) Reese. Roger grew up in New Holstein, Wis., and helped his parents on their farm. He joined the US Army in 1960 and honorably served his country in Germany.

When he returned home, Roger went to work at the Shoe Factory, for Tri-County Concrete and started at Tecumseh in 1961. He retired Feb. 2, 2002.

Roger married Susan Gruber on Sept. 19, 1975, in New Holstein. She preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2013.

Roger was very active in Local Lodge 1259 Union, serving as a union steward for years, then as full-time chairman for 18 years. He was a member at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Pembine where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Lions Club for many years.

Roger enjoyed his John Deere tractors and his gator rides. At his home he built for retirement, Roger enjoyed feeding his birds and watching the squirrels, turkeys and deer. He also enjoyed taking care of his large lawn and going to Norway for the races.

Roger was the proud father of Julie Reese of Fond Du Lac, Wis., Gary (Paula) Reese of Oostburg, Wis., Tina (Jon) DeVillers of Elkhart Lake, Wis., Lonnie (Jaime) Reese of New Holstein, Jamie (Sara) Reese of Kiel, Wis; 10 grandchildren, Jena, Anthony, Christopher, Tiffany, Kody, Joshua, Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Seth and Ethan; three great-grandchildren, Amelia, Ebben and Lenyx; special friend, Gail Morkin and family; two brothers, Tom (Betty) Reese, of New Holstein, and David Reese of Madison, Wis.; two sisters, Joan Reese of Green Bay, Wis., and Judy Reese of Madison; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Reese of Florida, Joan Krueger of Brillion, Wis., and Jean (Bob) Jankowski of Fremont, Wis.; brother-in-law, Gary (Sharon) Gruber of Chilton, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan; brother, Jerry; brother-in-law, Roger Krueger; his in-laws, Ervin and Margaret Gruber; and two nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Friday, July 26 at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Pembine, with Father Michael Lightner presiding.

Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.

Interment will be immediately after Mass in the Pembine Cemetery.

Roger enjoyed his full life and his loving family, the Northwoods, and the time he spent with everyone.
