Louis Lorenzoni

NORWAY — Louis Wallace Lorenzoni, 70, of Pembine, Wis., formerly of Vulcan, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at his home in Pembine.

He was born Nov. 9, 1948, in Norway, the son of the late Leslie and Violet (Giovanelli) Lorenzoni.

Louie graduated from Norway High School in 1966.

He served his country in Vietnam with the U.S. Army’s 5th Infantry.

He joined the police academy and became a detective sergeant for the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, later becoming part-owner of LaFreniere Motors in Norway. He purchased the former Local Pub and renamed it Mister Mom’s in 1987.

He married Debra Kelly on March 30, 1990, in Iron Mountain.

Louie enjoyed guns, riding his Harley Davidson, playing cards, especially smear. He loved his German Shepherds and considered all his patrons at Mister Mom’s family. He enjoyed spending time with them.

Louie was well known for his candor. He was a man who spoke his mind and you always knew where you stood with him. He was selfless when it came to helping friends and family. His generosity, humor and larger than life presence will be missed.

Louie is survived by his wife, Debra; children, Jon (Liz) Lorenzoni of Kingsford, Leslie (Mindi) Lorenzoni of Norway, Andrew (Audra) Lorenzoni of Nebraska and Tori (Nate) Normand of Pembine; grandchildren, Alex, Olivia, Grace, Ella, Laney, Isaac, Avery, Ashlynn and Annabella; brother, Robert (Lisa) Lorenzoni of Crystal Falls; sister, Janis (Robert) Giannunzio of Vulcan; the Kelly family; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.

The memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with a celebration of life to follow at Mister Mom’s.
