MARQUETTE — Another member of the “Greatest Generation” Captain A. “Bronco” Quadrani, 91, of Kingsford, quietly and peacefully died Friday morning, Aug. 30, 2019, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans.

Anthony Lawrence Quadrani was born April 30, 1928, in Iron Mountain, a son of the late Lorenzo N. and Vincenza (Stefanelli) Quadrani and had been a lifelong area resident.

Bronco served in the US Navy aboard the USS Pine Island in the Pacific during WWII.

On Feb. 11, 1956, he married Rita Maguhn at Immaculate Conception Church in Iron Mountain and she preceded him in death in 1974.

Following his discharge from the military, he tried his luck panning for gold in Alaska.

He returned to sailing as a deckhand on the iron ore ships on the Great Lakes. Over the years, he worked his way through the ranks until he reached that of Captain.

In retirement, Bronco enjoyed “sailing” his pontoon boat up and down the Menominee River while loudly playing his polka music.

Bronco leaves behind a great legacy for his many loved ones.

He will be loved and missed always. Lift your favorite “snifter” and wish him a Bon Voyage.

He is survived by two children, Debra Quadrani of Denver and Anthony (Lan) Quadrani of Aurora, Wis.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Cecelia Frankini of Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

A private graveside service will be held in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.

The Canale-Tonella Funeral Home is assisting the family, where memories may be shared at canalefuneral.com.
