Ronald W. Pirlot

QUINNESEC — Ronald W. Pirlot, 77, of Quinnesec, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at Iron County Medical Care Facility.

Ron was born on Dec. 24, 1941, in Powers, son of the late Walter and Mary Louise (Gibour) Pirlot. He was a resident of this area his entire life and was a graduate of Powers High School. Ron worked in the family logging business for several years before being drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Ron returned to school on the G.I. Bill and earned his bachelor’s degree. He married Barbara Moddie and together they raised their family in this community. Ron worked for many years in the pattern shop at Grede Foundry, retiring in 2008.

While he was raising his family, he loved watching his children’s sporting events. He enjoyed watching sports on television and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Ron also loved to laugh and enjoyed playing cards and watching comedy on TV.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Katey Pietrantonio) Pirlot of Green Bay, Wis., and Heather (Emma) Pirlot of Quinnesec; a brother, Terry (Janet) Pirlot of Bark River; sisters, Teresa (Tony) Peine of Texas and Linda (Mark Kwetkowski) Peterson of Florida; and a granddaughter, Adeline Pirlot of Iron Mountain.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of Ron’s life from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at the Big Ten Sports Bar in Quinnesec.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ron’s memory to the Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet.
