Jeanne M. Bolander

KINGSFORD — Jeanne M. Bolander, 70, of Kingsford, died Oct. 12, 2019, surrounded by family in Madison, Wis., following a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in Kingsford on Dec. 22, 1948, the daughter of the late Andrew and Joyce (Olsen) Bolander. She graduated from Kingsford High School in 1967.

Jeanne craved adventure in her younger years and following graduation moved to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI. Her career in the federal government allowed her free spirit to live in many states throughout her life before she settled back in Kingsford.

Jeanne is survived by her beloved daughter, Chanda Bolander; her siblings, Tom (Shelby) Bolander of Iron Mountain, Karen Bolander of Minneapolis, Debbie (Jeff) Bussiere of Iron River, and Gail Declark of Niagara, Wis.; nieces and nephews, Andrea (Darrin) Gill, Phillip Bussiere, Vicki (Mike) Snyder, Janice Bolander, Brad (Brenda) Declark, and Danielle Wagner; many great-nieces and great-nephews; aunts; and cousins of the Olsen/Bolander Family.

She also had many close friends near and far, including an especially close friend, Rashelle Hoar.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Joyce (Olsen) Bolander; sister, Kay Lynn; great-great-nephew, Silas Jr.; best friend, Linda VanGinkel; and dog, Snickers.

The family would like to thank U.W. Carbone Cancer Center, Capitol Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Agrace Hospice for all their support and care during Jeanne’s brief illness.

Per Jeanne’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a future date.
