JoAnn M. Johnson

She was born May 15, 1951, in Ironwood, daughter of the late William and Joan (Westergreen) Murra. JoAnn grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School.

She married Larry Johnson on Dec. 18, 1971, in Iron Mountain. JoAnn worked at the Dickinson County Library, Kmart for 23 years as Department Head, and Walmart for 7 years, prior to retiring.  

She enjoyed scrapbooking, calligraphy, taking casino trips, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Larry Johnson of Iron Mountain; one son, Jeremy Johnson of Lake Odessa; one daughter, Shawna Johnson of Ponte Verda, Fla.; three brothers, Jason Murra of Escanaba, Bill Murra of Sagola and Patrick (Helen) Murra of Iron Mountain; one sister, Diane (Dave) Warmuth of Iron Mountain; and by four grandchildren, Riley, Cailyn, Ava and Evan.

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by one brother, John Murra; and her twin sister, Mary.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. A celebration of life service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pastor Darryl Ditmer will officiate.
