Mary Lee Lebo

IRON MOUNTAIN — Mary Lee Lebo, 83, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wis.

Mary Lee was born on Sept. 5, 1936, in Calumet, daughter of the late Cleo and Genevieve (Richetta) Beaudoin. She grew up in the Copper Country and was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Calumet. Mary Lee married Clark A. Lebo in 1955 in Calumet. The couple spent most of their marriage in Kingsford and Spread Eagle, Wis.

She was a loving wife and mother. Her most important role was that of Grandy and her four grandchildren were the light in her eyes, proud and loving. Sleepovers and swim parties, a friend or two was always OK. She had unlimited love and forgiveness in her heart for those close. A million kindnesses came from her.

Mary Lee was employed at Ball and Christy Furniture for over 30 years. As a decorator, she helped many find their style. Her own home always changed for the season. Small touches and memories displayed, everything always looked just right with little details everywhere.

Over the years, she has been active in the Iron Mountain Elks Club, Chippewa Club, Pine Grove Country Club, Iron Mountain-Kingsford Women’s Club, Tuesday Literary Club and the Dickinson County 100 Plus Women Who Care.

Mary Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Clark; and her daughter, Allyson.

She is survived by her son, Mark and his children, Allison, Alexandra and Logan; son, Chris (Nancy Finch) and his son, William; a brother, Robert (Carol) Beaudoin of Tennessee; sister, Peggy (Paul) Rader of Munising.

Also by her devoted friend and neighbor, Jan Collins, who was always a source of knowledge, love and comfort.

Graveside services will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet in the spring and will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory with the Dickinson Area Community Foundation-TLC Fund. 333 S. Stephenson Ave. Suite 204, Iron Mountain, MI 49801. Donations will be used to provide Christmas gifts to needy families.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Freeman Nursing Home and Maryhill Manor for their compassionate care. Dr. Morel showed a kindness not often encountered; Mary Lee always liked to compliment his shoes.
