CRYSTAL FALLS — On Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, Roger Don Christian, loving husband, father and grandfather of Crystal Falls, passed away at the age of 77.

Roger was born on March 25, 1942, to Albert and Eleanor Christian in Ishpeming. He graduated from National Mine High School in 1960 and attended Northern Michigan University.

In 1965, Roger started working with the Michigan State Parks Services, where he worked at multiple parks, ultimately landing at Bewabic State Park in Crystal Falls, in 1969. Roger spent 20 years with the State Parks Services, later to work for his own construction companies until his retirement in 2006.

Starting in 1987, Roger regularly attended the Mission Bible Training Center, teaching the Gospel to those recovering in the center, as long as he was able to. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, traveling regularly to visit them in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oregon and California.

Roger also loved making wooden fishing nets by hand, which he regularly donated for charity. He loved making people laugh, and had an unconditionally loving heart.

Roger is survived by his sisters, Alberta (Christian) Kontio and Karen Christian.

He is also survived by his wife, Marguerite (Trudell) Christian, his son, Jeff Christian, daughter-in-law, Lisa Rosales, and grandson, Grayson Christian, his daughter, Laura (Christian) Wesseln, son-in-law, Ken Wesseln, and grandchildren, Lily, Luke, and David Wesseln, his daughter, Stephanie (Christian) Siler, son-in-law, Lee Siler, and grandchildren Josh and Krista (Cone) Siler, Jacob and Andee (Lortie) Siler, son, Pete Mackin, son Stephen Christian, daughter-in-law, April (Vivian) Christian, and granddaughter, Eleanora Christian.

A Celebration of Life and a luncheon will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at Lakeview Bible Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mission Bible Training Center in Gaastra.
