Dale Hughes
QUINNESEC — Dale “Skip” Hughes, 85, of Quinnesec, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
He was born on May 26, 1934 in Kingsford, the son of the late Herbert and Doris (Cleary) Hughes.
Dale married Shirley Bolan on April 1, 1954, in St. Marys Church in Norway. She preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 2019.
Skip enjoyed weekends at the lake, water skiing, and fishing. He was a hard worker and retired from Grede Foundry.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Lauri (Jeff Fontecchio) Hughes; son, Scott (Debbie) Hughes; grandchildren, Eric (Nichole) Chrisman, Lynn (Kirt) Currie, Alan and Dale Hughes; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Paige Currie, Hannah, Abbie and John Chrisman, Lauren and Lindsey Lewandowski; brother, Ronald (Cathy) Hughes; sisters, Helen (Charles) Sleight, Lois Gendron and Susan (Greg) Puckett; sister-in-law, Lois Hughes; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Julie DeVore; and a brother, Richard Hughes.
A Celebration of Dale’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Dale’s House in Quinnesec.
