IRON MOUNTAIN — Rita L. Larson, 89, of Iron Mountain, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, surrounded by her family.

She was born Dec. 22, 1930, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Quinto and Gilda (Faccin) Valenti. She married Jack B. Larson on July 26, 1952, in Iron Mountain.

In the early 1960s, they moved to California where she loved her home, working in the yard and spending time with friends and family. After the passing of her husband in April 1977, she returned to Iron Mountain with her family. She enjoyed winter vacations in Las Vegas, with her sister, Jean (Chick) Valenti and dearest friend, Jean Formell. Playing cards, dominoes and blackjack, were a favorite pastime for her. She loved helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rita was cared for by her daughter, Bernie, over the last eight years, as well as caregivers, Ericka, Amanda, Mallory, Catrina, Debbie, Bryanna and Cheyenne of Home Health Care Professionals. The family wishes to give special thanks to these caregivers for their love and support.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jack B. Larson; great loving mother of two daughters, Mary J. Larson, Martin and Bernadette Larson, both of Iron Mountain; adored grandmother of five grandchildren, Garred (Alexandra) Martin, Jack Ryan Martin, Magen (Josh) Pfiester, Katherine (Jamie) Voglund and Andrew Larson; and 14 great-grandchildren, Jaden Martin, Dexter Martin, Aurora Martin, Jamilla Abdullah, Jack Ryan Martin Jr., Beau Martin, Kelsey Martin (her fiancé, Graydon Bohn), Ashton Pfiester, Aubrie Pfiester, Braylon Anderson, Griffin Voglund, Franklin Voglund, and Liberty Voglund.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Jack; Rita was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Valenti; son-in-law, Gary Martin; father and mother-in-law, Nels Larson and Dominica Larson.
