Diane “DiDi” (Fayas) Rasmussen

Diane "DiDi" Rasmussen

IRON MOUNTAIN — Diane “DiDi” Rasmussen, 53, our beautiful angel, was called home on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, as a result of complications from surgery.

Diane was born on Sept. 12, 1966, in Iron Mountain. She was the daughter of the late Gerald and Sharon (Paulsen) Fayas. Diane has been a lifelong resident of this area and was a 1984 graduate of Iron Mountain High School. She worked for many years at Mr. Donut on the Northside of Iron Mountain, where she met and married the love of her life, Paul Rasmussen.

Diane worked for over 24 years as the head of soft line merchandise at the Kingsford Shopko store.

Family was first and foremost in Diane’s life, and she cherished her close relationships with her family.

Diane loved “Bling,” she had spunk, sass and class and loved accessorizing her style with jewelry, handbags, clothing, glitz and glitter to make a style all her own. Diane loved to shop and had great fun during her sisters’ shopping trips. She was very social and always the life of every party. Throughout all of her health struggles, Diane always managed a smile and said “I thank God for every day and keep trucking.”

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Fayas; mother and father-in-law, Lorraine and Kermit Rasmussen; and a very special dog, Andy.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Paul; brother, Darrell (Debbie) Fayas of Iron Mountain; sisters, Donna (Tom) Johnson of Iron Mountain and Darlene (Don Stevenson) Hehn of Iron Mountain; nephews, Jeremy (Jenny) Fayas, Justin (Krystal) Fayas and Jaime Fayas; great-niece and nephews, Weston, Jolie and Knox Fayas, Gunnar and Gage Fayas; also by a special niece, Anne DeCrecenzo and her special little friend, Carl Jobe.

Diane is also survived by her brother-in-law, Donald (JoAnn) Rasmussen and their children, Ronalee, Hannah, Amanda and Micah Rasmussen.

Heaven needed a little extra sparkle, Shine on Diane!
