Carol Jean Winters

IRON MOUNTAIN — Carol Jean Winters, 78, of Iron Mountain, passed away on May 23, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wis., with her husband by her side.

Carol was born on Feb, 15, 1942, in Milwaukee Wis., daughter of the late Andrew and Sylvia Miller.

She was married on June 16, 1962, to Joseph Winters, together they raised two children.

Carol worked different jobs throughout her early years, but mainly in home child care and in retail.

Carol loved her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchild.

She enjoyed bingo, car rides around Lake Antoine and family gatherings.

She was survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph; son, Scott (Julie) Winters of Iron Mountain; daughter, Susan (Chris) Cardinal of Sault St. Marie; grandchildren, Austin and Harley Winters, Cassandra Cardinal and great-granddaughter, Aria Cardinal. Carol was extremely proud of her grandchildren and an awesome grandmother.

She is further survived by Diane (Andy) Benjamin, Larry (Champ) Lundin, Terry (Veronica) Lundin, all from Norway, and Janis (John) Hogberg of Iron Mountain, her cousins with whom she was raised with. Her sisters-in-law, Mary Lou DeCremer of Niagara, and Debbie (Darrel) Fayas of Iron Mountain; uncle, Ernest (Nadine) Povolo and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, Andrew and Sylvia Miller she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; an uncle and aunt, Lawrence and Jeanette Lundin and many other aunts and uncles. Norman DeCremer brother-in-law and Earl and Mary Winters mother-in-law and father-in-law.
