Margaret A. “Peggy” St. Louis

KINGSFORD — Margaret A. “Peggy” St. Louis, 91, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Evergreen Assisted Living in Kingsford.

Peg was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Kingsford, daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Hoffman) McAuliffe. She was a lifelong resident of this area, graduating from Kingsford High School in 1946.

On Aug. 4, 1951, Peg married Robert St. Louis; he preceded her in 2008. For over 30 years she worked for Michigan Bell as an operator and commercial supervisor, retiring in 1984. Peg was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church where she was very active as a Eucharistic Minister and many other ministries. She was also active in the Daughters of Isabella, IM-K Womens Club, volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul and Telephone Pioneers of America. She was named First Lady of Dickinson County in 1983.

Peg is survived by her sons, Tom (Chris) St. Louis and Scott (Tanya) St. Louis; her daughter, Christine (Mark) Armstrong; seven grandchildren, Kim (Brian) Bero, Pat (Becky) St. Louis, Paul (Catherine) St. Louis, Olivia (Matt) Hayes and Fr. Spenser St. Louis, Sarah and Tony Armstrong; and great-grandchildren, Owen, Carter and Claire Bero, Maverick, Maddy and Max St. Louis, and Sophie Hayes.

Along with her parents and husband, Bob, Peg was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Joseph McAuliffe and her sister, Lucille Massie.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Spenser St. Louis will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
