Stevie “Stoops” L. Seaver

IRON MOUNTAIN — Stevie “Stoops” L. Seaver, 30, of Virginia, Minn., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 9, 2020.

He was born Sept. 18, 1989, in Port Washington, Wis., son of John and Kandee (Collins) Seaver Jr. Stevie grew up in Kingsford and was a graduate of Kingsford High School, Class of 2009, where he excelled in woodworking and the building trades. He worked for Sagola Hardwoods and later moved to Wausau, Wis., where he worked as a machinist. Stevie attended school in Wausau, where he received a correctional degree. He moved to Oklahoma and worked for the state penitentiary for a short time before moving to Minnesota.

Stevie enjoyed many hobbies, which included playing old country music on his bass guitar, fishing, camping, canoeing, his cat Idgie, the outdoors, and especially the trips he took with his family to visit his grandparents in Grafton, Wis.

He is survived by his parents, John and Kandee; maternal grandmother, Dawn Collins of Niagara, Wis.; one son, Joseph Weiss; one brother, John (Rachel) Seaver III of Olathe, Kansas; two sisters, Stephanie (David) Beaudoin of Kingsford and twin sister Shanyn (Dustin) Miller of Sagola; three nephews, Bryson, Jackson and Walker; and three nieces, Aubryna, Eve and Gwen.

Stevie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Jude Seaver; and maternal grandfather, John Collins.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 16, from 9 until 11 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. The Rev. Michael Lightner will officiate.

Burial will be in Athelstane Cemetery in Athelstane, Wis., next to his grandparents.
