Adeline M. Johnson
STAMBAUGH TOWNSHIP — Adeline M. Johnson, 92, of Stambaugh Township, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.
Adeline was born on Feb. 25, 1928, in Iron River, the daughter of the late Samuel and Viola (Daniels) Tickanen. She was a lifelong resident and attended the Rogers School in Bates Township. She was employed at the Puritan Dry Cleaners for five years prior to her marriage to Robert C. Johnson.
The couple were married on Oct. 1, 1955, at the First Lutheran Church of Iron River and made their home in Stambaugh Township. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2005.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Iron River and the Iron County Artists Association. As an artist, she used a wide array of expression, including oils, watercolor, and acrylics. She also enjoyed a varied assortment of crafts.
Adeline is survived by her son, Richard Johnson of Iron River; daughter, Sheree (Ronald) Mariani of Ishpeming; grandchildren, Amy Johnson of Weston, Wis., Cory Johnson of Iron River, Maria Mariani of Bellevue, Wis. and Christina (Harrison) Fuchs of Parker, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Madaski of Green Bay, Wis. and Brooke, Michelle, and Dominick Johnson of Iron River; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert and brothers, Donald and Floyd Tickanen, and daughter-in-law, Terri Johnson.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery in Iron River with Rev. D. J. Rasner, First Lutheran Church of Iron River, to officiate.
