Mary F. Basso

Mary was born on Nov. 28, 1942, in Asheville, N.C., the daughter of the late Lucille Foster Mills and Calvin Mills. Mary graduated from Enka High School and served in the United State Air Force where she met her loving husband of 54 years, Olindo Basso.

She worked at VA hospitals in Asheville and Iron Mountain.

Mary loved animals, especially cats and loved her grandcats, Bella and Mia, as well as many cats of hers throughout her years and supported the Almost Home Animal Shelter.

Mary is survived by her husband, Olindo of Iron Mountain; daughter, Adonia (Steve) Finendale; sister-in-law, Arlene Basso Stray; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carole Mills English; sister-in-law, Shirley Basso Forstrom.
