Philip J. Dorfler

KINGSFORD — Philip J. Dorfler of Kingsford, found peace on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain, following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, June, of Kingsford; sisters, Nancy Zecchin of Sterling Heights, Mich., Mary Wender of Iron Mountain and Sue Albert of Milwaukee. He is also survived by step-children, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Phil had many friends who will miss him. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Records Dorfler; parents, June and Anton Dorfler; brothers, Joseph, his twin Vince and sister, Karen Giguere. Phil was born Dec. 16, 1937, in Sagola. His family wishes to thank the critical care staff of DCHS for their excellent care and compassion. A private memorial will be held in Iron Mountain at a later date. Phil’s ashes will be shipped to New London, Conn. for burial. Phil was much loved by many and his passing will leave a hole in our hearts.
