Marie Belanger

She was born in Norway on Dec. 17, 1942, the daughter of Laura (Tavis) Flessati and the late Joseph Flessati.

Marie graduated from Norway High School in 1960.

She married Robert Belanger on June 29, 1963, at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2020.

Marie was an active member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan, and supporter of Holy Spirit School.

She enjoyed motorcycle riding, riding their side by side, reading, spending time with her husband at their home on Hamilton Lakes and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a special way with all the children in her life.

She is survived by her son Dan (Lisa Lindt) Belanger of Lombard Ill.; daughters, Jean (Bill Polazzo) Belanger of Hamilton Lakes and Kathy Belanger of Norway; grandsons, Nickolas (Nicole) Belanger, and Samuel Belanger; mother, Laura Flessati; sisters, Nancy Farley of Norway, JoAnn Arnold of Norway; brothers, David (Cheryl) Flessati of Las Vegas, and Robert (Tammy) Flessati of Norway; brother-in-law, John Belanger of Kenosha Wis., special Godchild, Annika LaBelle of Norway, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marie was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Larry Belanger; and a sister-in-law, Rita Belanger.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis officiating.

Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
