KINGSFORD — Mary Lou Murray, 83, of Kingsford, passed away on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020, at ManorCare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingsford.

She was born Feb. 28, 1937, in Niagara, Wis., daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Watkins) Cardin. Mary Lou graduated from Niagara High School in 1955 and was a lifelong resident of the area. 

She married James Murray on Oct. 1, 1955, at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2006. 

Mary Lou enjoyed crafts, was an excellent cook (her granddaughters said she made the best pecan rolls) spending time at the family camp in Channing, and traveling throughout the United States and Canada with her husband. 

She also enjoyed researching family history and was the family genealogist.

She is survived by three sons, Mark (Mary) Murray of Quinnesec, Craig Murray of Iron Mountain, and Kevin Murray of Iron Mountain; four grandchildren, Jamie Murray (Beau Bennett) of Manitowoc, Wis., Stephanie Zychowski (Rob) of Green Bay, Wis., Kyle and Brad Murray of Iron Mountain; Pam Morin, sister-in-law, of Lower Michigan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and her roommate Deb Olson of ManorCare.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.

Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
