FLORENCE, Wis. — Ronald P. Brolin, 84, of Florence, Wis., passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020, at Florence Health Services in Florence, Wis.

He was born Aug. 21, 1936, in Florence, son of the late Richard and Celia (Erickson) Brolin. Ron was a longtime resident of the area and a farmer.

He was a kind and gentle person who loved trains and birds. Ron could tell the name of a bird just by the sound it made.

He enjoyed traveling the United States and wintering in Texas with his sister, Olive, and her husband, Keith. Ron will be known for enjoying his favorite song, “On the Pontoon.”

He is survived by his sister, Olive Quist of DeKalb, Ill.; one niece, Tracey Fergin; and two nephews, Richard and Scott Quist.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by three brothers, Gordon, Melvin and Larry Brolin; and by one sister, Marion Brolin.

In accordance with Ron’s wishes, private family services will be held.

Burial will take place in Commonwealth Cemetery in Commonwealth, Wis.
