Raymond E. Chrisman

AURORA, Wis. — Raymond E. Chrisman, 84, of Aurora, Wis., passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, at the Oscar G. Johnson Veterans Hospital in Iron Mountain.

He was born Feb. 28, 1936, in Aurora, son of the late Verne and Elizabeth (DeGraaf) Chrisman. After school Ray proudly served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge.

He then went on to work for the Florence County Co-Op in Aurora, and later at Grede Foundry in Iron Mountain, retiring in 1993.

He married Patricia Behnke on October 14, 1967, in Iron Mountain.

Ray enjoyed camping, building woodworking projects, and inventing new things, but most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia; four sons, Darwin (Leslie) Chrisman of Iron Mountain, Jack (Jennifer) Chrisman of Ladysmith, Wis., Wayne (Kellye) Chrisman of Pulaski, Wis., and Troy (Holly) Chrisman of Green Bay, Wis.; and nine grandchildren, Sawyer, Tyler, Hunter, Jade, Miah, Jessica, Garrett, Krystal and Zoe; one brother, Dick Chrisman of Mukwonago, Wis.; two sisters, Frances Schaut of Aurora, Wis., and Vera Craig of Littleton, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Linda Chrisman and Mary Johnson; and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by seven brothers, Jerome, Rodger, Freddy, Edwin, Russell, Walt and Jim; three sisters, Joyce, Ollie and Shirley; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Ray will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
