Arlene “Toby” Wotruba

NADEAU — Arlene “Toby” Wotruba, 77, of Nadeau, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at her home.

The former Arlene Marie Macco was born on Sept. 27, 1943, in Nadeau to William and Genevieve (Paquette) Macco. She moved to the Milwaukee area in 1966 then moved back to Nadeau in 1971 with her three sons to start a new life. On July 1, 1977, Toby married Patrick Wotruba in Nadeau.

Toby worked as a nurse’s assistant at various nursing homes in the Milwaukee area and Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers. She also worked at Midwest Chair in Nadeau, and Robinson’s Furniture Manufacturing in Wilson, and was co-owner, with her husband Patrick, of Toby’s Tap in Nadeau.

She enjoyed reading, playing games on her iPad, going for side by side rides and knitting. Toby’s pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she cherished the times spent with them. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church where she served on the parish council; St. Anne’s Society, she was also involved with the Carney Nadeau Sports Booster Club and served on the Nadeau Township election board.

Toby is survived by her husband, Patrick of Nadeau; four sons, Jeff (Chris) Stage of Nadeau, Jan (Monica) Stage of Appleton, Wis., Gene (Chris) Stage of Mason, Mich. and Don (Laura) Wotruba of Grand Ledge, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way.

Toby was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bob and Lawrence Macco.

Visitation will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Nadeau on Wednesday March 31, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. with Father Jacek Wtyklo presiding. Burial will be in Nadeau Township Cemetery at a later date. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of other forms of sympathy, a memorial fund will be established in Toby’s name.
