Genevieve Recla

She was born July 2, 1928 in Hermansville, the daughter of the late Emil and Mary (Stockero) Tomasi.

Genevieve was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan. She loved her flower gardens, doing word searches, and in her own words, she “loved to smoke.” Known as a classy lady with the perfect amount of spunk, she was always up for a good time and a classic country song. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen McLeod of Rochester, Minn.; two sons, Daniel (Patti Grogan) Recla of Kingsford, Bruce (Judy Hyland) Recla of Quinnesec; daughter-in-law, Joan Recla of Iron Mountain; five grandchildren, Laura McLeod, Andrew McLeod, Jill (Tabitha Berger) Recla, Nick (Aimee) Recla and Margo (Josiah) Juedes; four great-grandchildren, Dylan McLeod, Beau and Juliana Recla and Tucker Juedes; sisters, Isabel (Ed) Triest and Donna Jafolla; brothers, George (Bettey) Tomasi, Robert (Peg) Tomasi, Roger (Carmen) Tomasi, and Donald (Ginny) Tomasi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Recla on Feb. 22, 1973; a sister, Cecelia Weldon; and brother-in-law, James Jafolla.

Family would like to thank her special friends and neighbors, Bob and Cindy Tomasoski and Mick Zanon for all their help.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life is being planned by the family for a later date.

Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery.
